Woops! Sorry I missed the last two days of Chanukah, usually they are the best. I had finals to study for and family to be with. Yep, Chanukah ended Monday, but since I have a back log of stuff to tell you about, it looks like on Naomi's Fashionable World that Chanukah will go on a longer than expected. I'm sure the rabbinical council won't mind.
What happened this last Saturday was, I went to temple with my little brother and my mom, and when I got home I helped mom with some of our festivities, lighting the menorah and such. Here's what I wore:
I already had the platform sandals, the skirt and blouse were Chanukah gifts, the skirt from my mom, the blouse from my little brother. He must have spent all of his gelt from last year on me this Chanukah:
Naah, he's too old for gelt, though both of us are still getting the chocolate gelt from mom. Later, I went outside to hang out with some of my friends in the neighborhood. You see the driedel in the photo? We didn't play spin the driedel too much...just kidding!
So, I hope your Chanukah was one of the best ever. If it wasn't, well, there's always next year.
I've got one more final then the Fall semester has finally ended.
Haven't been on Polyvore lately though you're always welcome to like my sets, thank you!
Catchya later.
Ciao.

I've got an update for Chanukah day 6. Sure, it's day 7 already but finals and other stuff got in the way of posting. I'm back home in Detroit and I'm back at the family house after going to temple with mom and my little brother. Speaking of him, my little bro, if you've been reading my other posts you'll know I've had my eyes on a certain pair of boots, viz:
Well, I guess I've given it all away now. Yep, my little bro came through and got me a pair. Now, these boots weren't on my Chanukah wish list, it was these boots that were on the list:
Now that I think about it, I'm not sure I blogged that much about the boots at the top. Anyway, my brother bought me the boots at the top, what a sweetheart. The last time I saw my brother, his piggy bank, which is shaped like a temple by the way, was so engorged it looked like it was going to erupt. So there's an extra sweet bonus that he spent all of his hard earned coin on me. Now, let's get to testing these babies out. First up, here's a photo of the boots by their lonesome:
They certainly add some pizzaz to my college dorm room floor. Can't tell much about them from here, so here's another shot of me holding them:
They look pretty tall but it's mostly the heels, next, check out the stretch in these babies:
Woooh! Stretchy! They must be the stretchiest boots I've got. Very nice PU on these boots, none of that cheap stuff. Well, I guess I'm going to have to wear them to get an idea of what they're really all about:
Looking real good, I'd say. With the PU pants, leather jacket and fedora I got as Chanukah gifts too, I'd have to qualify this look as 100% slick. Yep, new PU pants and leather jacket. The pants are already a close fit and those PU boots just squeeze them down even more. Love the fedora, can always use one's in different sizes. Now, shifting gears a bit to the pants, but the boots are still going to be there, how do those tight PU pants fit around my bottom?
I'm very happy with the fit. The boots look good from behind too. I had to Skype with my brother to thank him and he came out to MSU the same day, what a dear heart, so I could give him my Chanukah gift for him, and thank you's. Maybe I shouldn't post this but we Skyped with daddy too, all three of us, it was so nice to at least Skype with him, wish I could be with him on Chanukah. So that's Chanukah day 6. I'm hoping to get Chanukah day 7 up today but what with all of the home Chanukah craziness and studying for finals, I can't promise anything. Hope your Chanukah is beautiful, bounteous, and joyous.
Catchya later.
Ciao.

Hmmm, Chanukah...one of my favorite times of the year. Joyous celebrations, a feeling of fellowship, and presents, so many presents! So far I've blogged updates for most of this high holiday's celebratory days, and today, day 5, is no exception. Truth be told I'm always behind one day, I've got to unbox and photo my new treasures first. Nevertheless, let's just call this day 5's.
Now, what's in store for today? Here, take a gander at these babies:
Stiletto pumps in very fashionable oxblood. Another surprise for me because I did not expect these at all.
Love the heel height. Usually I prefer black, black seems to just go best with almost anything, though I think I can find a use for pumps like these in oxblood, maybe for some of my Les Chic looks, more about that later.
Next up, I have a triumvirate of gifts to show you:
OK, starting on the left: a nice pair of princess pants with button details in navy blue. Ahoy there matey, those look like sailor pants to me! Naah, they're princess pants from someone dear to my heart, because I'm his princess.
Next: in the middle, above, on the bed: a black leather sheet and comforter set. Thank you so much! I already have sets in red and in black, PVC vinyl, which I simply adore, but none in this delicious, luxurious leather. Had a chance to give them a spin last night, and let me tell you baby I had some of the best sleep I've had in a long time. They enhance the experience so much, completely indispensable. Don't know where my admirer, whose identity shall remain secret, got these: I've scoured the internet and none I've found were up to snuff; can't chintz on leather bedding, cheap stuff ruins the whole experience, not enhancing it, not unlike wearing too much Old Spice, if you're a girl - wrote about that situation before. The big problem is that they're for a twin size, which I have in my dorm room, but somewhere down the line I know I'm going to get a king size, so I'll need a new set. The other problem: I couldn't loosen the screws, or my boyfriend couldn't, on this darn bunkbed, safety first after all. To get the best performance out of these types of sheets, PVC or leather, you really need a big brass bed with loose screws, so that it wobbles and moans a lot. I know what you're thinking: "Naomi, how are you going to sleep in a wobbly, noisy bed?" My response: "What can I say, some people like the TV on when they're doing it, me, I prefer a luxurious, noisy, wobbly bed with the screws loosened to sleep together in, plus, I get a sound nights sleep; it just makes me feel less alone, the noise that is."
Up next: to the far right, hanging from the upper bed: a new leather jacket. Sure, it's moto style, seems like almost every leather jacket is moto style nowadays, however, it's double breasted. I think I might have a post in which it fits in here a bit more prominently. All three of the items in the photo make a good combo. Could see myself doing something, maybe, Les Chicish - more about that later - with the pants and jacket.
So there's Chanukah haul day 5 for you. How's your Chanukah going? Getting any good stuff? Hope it's been joyous and full filling as well.
Catchya later.
Ciao.

You're probably here because you read my Google+ post and needed to find the answer to its question. Or maybe you're here for otherwise reasons. Check out this photo and get a clue:
Woohoo! Look how stretchy they are! Someone could definitely slip inside this sleeping bag. These are built for two, literally, or maybe it's figuratively. New PU pants, a Chanukah gift. Now, the important thing, probably the most important thing, especially for us girls. How do they fit around my rear? A photo helped me out too:
Not bad, not the best out of my PU pant collection, not bad. This PU pant style wasn't on my Chanukah wishlist, you know; it's still cool: I can find a use for them.
Now, the question I know you're dying to ask me is: "So Naomi, how do those pants feel? Are they uncomfortable?" My answer: "Well, if you think pants that feel like they're trying to have sex with you are uncomfortable, I guess so, but I'm cool with it."
Your follow up: "Is your boyfriend jealous of your new 'boyfriend' pants?" My answer: "Naah! They're just pants! He loves 'em!"
So that's it for today. There are still a lot more days of Chanukah coming up that I know I don't want to miss and I know you don't either, so check back again...tomorrow. Hope you're Chanukah week has been pleasurable, even if you're not Jewish.
Oh, yeah, I've got some new sets up on Polyvore, like them? Please? Thank you!
Catchya later.
Ciao.

Has your Chanukah been bountiful so far? Sure, not everyone is Jewish, maybe you're thinking about another holiday. You might have read my holiday wishlist post earlier and now I have an update about how those wishes may or may not have come to fruition.
I received a mystery box through the mail here at MSU the other day. It was a mystery because it had no return address, but I know who it was from. Now, what could be in that box? My interest was certainly peeked. Here's what I found, my first boot unboxing:

Now I was very excited and opening the box:
These are gorgeous! Over the knee platform Bebes in black patent! I'd better check the size, though:
Looking good, here's another view:
The right size, these need a closer look:
Gorgeous! And so shiny! How long are these butes? They look huge:
These must be the longest boots I have so far. I love the beautiful back lacing. I can't wait to wear them and I have the perfect occasion and outfit in mind.

I received another package as well. Guess what I found inside? I bet that would be tough to figure out based only on my wishlist so, well, here you go:
If you're surprised, I was too. I wasn't expecting this either. It wasn't on my wishlist though I have pictures on Pinterest and Tumblr of a different model, so I guess someone out there is a mind reader. The Bebes' boots weren't on my wishlist either. Sometimes that's what happens: you wish for something and get something else that you like just as much or something you wanted also.
Well, that's it for now, however, remember Chanukah ends next Monday so I'm sure you'll want to check back here later for further updates.
Haven't been on Polyvore for a while, finals are coming up and I have to study. School you know, getting in the way of the fun stuff. Maybe I'll check out Polyvore this evening.
If you're celebrating Chanukah I hope your holiday has been joyous and bountiful for you so far.
Catchya later.
Ciao.
